Journalism consists of journals, magazines, newspapers, digests, and news agencies and it also involves training and teaching regarding editing, photographing, writing, reporting, etc.
Journalism is gathering information, collating it, and creating something informative out of it. Apart from these basic roles, a journalist is also required to comment on events being reported but diplomatically, to not influence any reader too strongly.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Candidates who have completed their 10+2 schooling or equivalent, in any stream, from a recognized board with an aggregate of 50% marks are eligible to enroll for this program.
2. Institutions requiring an entrance exam for admission may take into account both the entrance exam score as well as previous academic records.
3. The cut-off mark for the examination is decided by each institution.
4. A reduction has been in place for the SC/ST students up to 45% which can be availed if the students have the required documentation to prove their claim.
Admission Process
1. Colleges publish admission notices on their website from June when most Indian universities would have finished degree exams.
2. Candidate to apply for each college, as each college considers each mark the cut-off mark.
3. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.
4. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
5. Candidates who qualify for the test are called for an interview before the final seat allotment.
6. Documents like mark sheets, photographs, signatures and transfer certificates must be scanned and uploaded online to the portal.
7. All documents must be in a specific format and size only to be accepted.
8. Various Entrance Exams such as CUCET, PAT, State University, Central University etc are conducted to enrol students for courses.

Graduands get exposure to various dimensions of print, electronics, and new-age media, and numerous technologies involved in mass-communication such as computer applications, and software and hardware applied in print, radio, TV, and the internet.
